Running in mission trails park
Just another ho hum day in paradise
I went for a run today in Mission Trails Regional Park, a very beautiful place to hang out. I started at the visitor’s center and ran to the dam that was built back in the 1803 by the Padres of the first of the California Mission.
Riding the Beach
I don’t think there is a better way to decompress than to spend the day riding the beach insanediego!
I like to start at Point Medanos, at the jetty in south Mission Beach. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, Mission Beach Basketball court and lots of beach volley ball.

Balboa Park
a jewel in the heart of san diego
I’m headed to the park today, Balboa or City Park as it was first called is an amazing jewel in the heart of insanediego. A must see on your visit to Americas finest city. One of the great things about Balboa park is that there is plenty of free parking. I like to park in the north west corner of the park just off of 6th Avenue on Balboa Dr. just as you enter the park. I leave my truck there and unload my bike and set off to discover the park.
Coronado Island
California's crown jewel
I’m headed off to explore Coronado Island today, I’m headed south on the 163 freeway through Balboa Park and under the beautiful bridge leading into the park. I head south on Interstate 5 to Coronado Bay Bridge and head for the island. It’s a big beautiful bridge to the amazing Coronado Island, as you cross the bridge you will see some beautiful views of insanediego.
Old Town San Diego
The first city on the west coast
Old Town San Diego is one of my favorite places in town, I have many fond memories hanging out in the park. I grew up in Linda Vista just across the San Diego river from Old Town, back in the late 60’s and early 70’s my friends and I would ride down Linda Vista Rd. cut across on Morena Blvd. into Old Town. We would spend hours riding or bikes on the mounds just down the hill from the mission
The gaslamp qurater
The historic heart of insanediego

Trip to Mexico
Experience the magic and culture of mexico
A fun day trip from insanediego is to head south of the border into Mexico for some exploring and shopping fun. I go to Mexico almost weekly and love experiencing the culture, the people and the food. When you cross the border in to Tijuana you are entering the largest city south of the border on the Baja peninsula. It is part of the San Diego-Tijuana urban agglomeration
Heading to Julian
The Apple of my eye
If you head east out of insanediego and then turn north on highway 67, you head up into the foot hills of San Diego county on our way to Julian. You pass thru Santee and lakeside as you start the climb, the first town you hit will be Ramona. A small western town with a very colorful history, Ramona was considered the turkey capital of the world back in the 1930’s
